Don Cesar Beach Resort

Location. Situated on the sugar white sandy
beaches of St. Pete Beach, Fla., an island just off the coast of St.
Petersburg, the Don Cesar Beach Resort, a Loews Hotel, emerges as a
sprawling Mediterranean pastel and is known as Florida's Pink
Palace. One mile from Frank Hurley Park and three miles from Ft. De
Soto Park, the hotel stands 20 miles from St. Petersburg/Clearwater
International Airport and 30 miles from Tampa International
Airport.
Hotel Features. Perched above a sweeping,
elevated driveway and overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the property
retains the castle like proportions with which it was first endowed
when it was built in 1928. Featured on the National Register of
Historic Places, the hotel greets guests with its colonnaded lobby.
A grand piano and intimate seating areas are located here. Other
public spaces are similarly expansive, such as the palm tree flanked
children's playground and a shopping arcade. Two outdoor pools, with
underwater sound systems, and an accompanying spa tub are tucked on
the oceanfront terrace. Guests will find numerous diversions at the
resort, from its Beach Club and Spa, a full service salon, spa and
fitness center, to Camp Cesar, a children's activity program,
available for a nominal fee. Whether it's doing yoga on the beach or
indulging with an ice cream cone at Uncle Andy's Old Fashioned Ice
Cream Parlor, guests' desires are fulfilled with an array of
amenities. Even if work arises at the Pink Palace, the hotel
provides a business center. On the dining front, there are two on
site restaurants.
Guestrooms. Wicker furniture, sky
blue ceilings and marble baths lend guestrooms a tropical yet
functional appeal.
Expert Tip.The Frank Hurley Park
has a pavilion, barbecue grills, a baseball diamond, a tennis court,
a basketball court and restrooms with showers on the beach side. It
can be reached by car or by walking down the beach.
Renovation Notice: The hotel is scheduled to begin
construction of a new spa beginning January 22, 2007. During this
time, guests may encounter some debris, noise disturbance and the
visual effects of construction. The estimated completion date is
April 30, 2007. These dates are subject to change.
Resort
Fees: Resort fees are determined by the hotel and are subject
to change.
